What makes a flamenco oriental fusion piece look authentic? We start with a lecture to understand why there’s a connection between flamenco and oriental music as we cover the history between Arabic and Spanish culture, learn about the concept of “duende”, cover what flamenco rhythms to use when creating fusion dances and how to incorporate flamenco stylization of posturas, braceo, and hip work into your dance using several combinations.

Please bring a pen and notebook! Be prepared to sit on the floor for a short lecture, if padding is desired - please bring a mat!
